It’s Roots and Fresh Direction
In 1948, the Rev. R. L. Dean arrived in Haliburton with a message and a vision. His vision was to start a church that would share the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the county, ultimately changing lives for all eternity. It all began with tent meetings, which then led to a church building and the founding of Full Gospel Lighthouse. The Lighthouse has been involved in preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Haliburton Highlands for all these many years.
Now in 2026, we are excited about the fresh direction for the Lighthouse Collective! We’ve taken a deep dive into Disciple Making Movements globally and discovered the great value in the intentional mobilization of the Body of Christ. We have been meeting in small, more intimate communities in homes around our county. Then gathering as a larger group once a month, to corporately worship, celebrate and pray together. We cherish and value the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Our leadership team and faith family have created new and fresh vision, mission and values to move us forward.
Our Vision
The Lighthouse Collective is a discipleship hub and family of faith communities, shining the light of Jesus in plain sight to draw others to Christ. Grounded in scripture, prayer and the love and light of Christ, we journey together as learners, teachers, agents of change and harvesters for Christ, leveraging our creativity, gifts and skills in a modern world.
We hold dearly the values of becoming Christlike in all things, and operating in a spirit of humility, prayer and unity.
Our focus is on cultivating, authentic, faith filled, disciples of Christ who make disciples, and care for the people of the community around them, through serving and sharing Christ’s light and love. Our goal is the creation of multiple, healthy, Christian faith communities, who in turn are trained to serve, love and share Jesus even more!
